American Border Patrol

One of Glenn Spencer's German Shepherds, Bingo, checks out the scene as three Border Patrol Agents walk along road near the border on American Border Patrol's ranch. The agents were looking for a group of about 15 Spanish-speaking people who had trespassed onto the ranch property. They returned across the border before the agents could apprehend them. The group headed east toward the San Pedro River, a favorite smuggling route.
Spencer had been walking his German Shepherds on his (ABPs) ranch when he came across ABP's Wes Fleming and a guest who had heard a group in a deep wash on the ranch speaking Spanish. "I tried to call the Border Patrol to make a report but they didn't answer the phone," Spencer said. "I was not surprised because our confidential sources had indicated that the Naco Station was being overhwelmed with cross border illegal immigrants," Spencer said.
ABP reports very heavy illegal cross-border traffic in the Naco Border Patrol station area of responsibility. "Border enforcement activity that had been very slow for about two weeks began to pick up on Thursday," said Glenn Spencer of ABP. Spencer said there was a major thrust across the border yesterday afternoon and into the evening. "Last evening I was standing on my front porch looking west and I could see a line of Border Patrol vehicles with their lights on facing the border in an attempt to deter crossers." Spencer said he had never before seen such a show of force.
